PRESS: “Wild bees visit different flowers to balance diet, study shows” – from The Guardian
We are very pleased to have contributed to The Guardian’s article today as subject matter experts on a Northwestern University study which found that wild bees strategically visit different flowers to manage their intakes of protein, fat and carbohydrates.
This study paints an important picture on wild bees’ behaviours and shows how important it is to maintain biodiversity in order to keep wild bee populations healthy. Human food systems are unquestionably linked to the welfare of bees and we increasingly learn just how intelligent and strategic they are in their behaviours.
